In honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 200th anniversary of Matica Srpska
Philadelphia, PA – Tesla Science Foundation (TSF) proudly announces a year-long international program for 2026, marking three major anniversaries — 170 years since the birth of Nikola Tesla, 250 years of the United States, and 200 years of Matica Srpska. The initiative will highlight the cultural diplomacy and historical contributions of the Serbian—Tesla people to the development of America.
Nikola Tesla, as an enduring symbol of unity between two great nations, will stand as the central figure of all TSF events planned across the United States and abroad.
Key Programs and Events
• Educational Lecture and Presentation – “The Contribution of the Serbian–Tesla People to the Development of America.”
• Documentary Film – A tribute to Serbian-American contributions to U.S. science, culture, and progress.
• Commemorative Monograph – To be presented to distinguished individuals and institutions.
• Medals and Pins – Featuring the celebration emblem, U.S. flag, and Nikola Tesla’s image.
The central celebration will take place in New York, January 9–14, 2026, followed by programs throughout the year, including the February 24 commemoration of Tesla’s 1893 lecture “On Light and Other High-Frequency Phenomena.”
The Foundation will also organize a major international gathering July 4–10, 2026, in Philadelphia, at the Independence National Historical Park—the birthplace of American independence—where Tesla’s birthday will be celebrated as a tribute to unity, innovation, and freedom.
Institutional Growth and Exhibitions
The Foundation is establishing the Nikola Tesla Science Foundation – Washington (NTSF@DC), with plans to create the first Nikola Tesla University at a U.S. institution.
A traveling exhibition featuring 50 panels from the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade, along with artistic works and experimental reconstructions, will tour various U.S. cities.
Monument and Memorial Initiatives
Planned new Tesla monuments will be placed at several locations, including:
• Smithsonian Institution (Washington D.C.)
• Colorado Springs
• New York City
Call for Collaboration
TSF invites institutions, professionals, and organizations to join in the realization of these cultural, educational, and diplomatic projects.
“This is a historic opportunity to show the American people the Serbian contribution to the development of the United States and to inspire new generations with the truth about our people and our great inventor,” said Nikola Lonchar, President and Founder of Tesla Science Foundation.
All TSF programs are based on verified historical facts and serve the mission of strengthening friendship, understanding, and respect between nations — reminding the world that Nikola Tesla was not just a name on an automobile, but the man who created the Second Industrial Revolution.
