Our Story and Mission
Our Story
The Tesla Science Foundation traces its origins to July 10, 2004, when it was established as “Tesla’s Team of Inventors” with the mission of promoting Nikola Tesla’s life and legacy. Initially created as a collaborative space for inventors to work and learn together, the organization quickly discovered widespread interest in Tesla’s contributions to science and technology. This enthusiasm led to the formation of the Nikola Tesla Inventors Club, which has since flourished with branches across multiple cities and countries.
On January 7, 2010—fittingly, Tesla’s birthday—the organization achieved nonprofit status as a 501(c)(3) under its current name, the Tesla Science Foundation. Today, our community connects over 20,000 members worldwide who share our vision and help spread Tesla’s legacy. The Foundation has garnered international interest, with established and emerging branches throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, Serbia, Russia, Brazil, Turkey, and beyond. We remain committed to our core mission of supporting and promoting innovators who might otherwise lack the platform to showcase their achievements.
Our Mission
The Tesla Science Foundation annually selects exceptional inventors who demonstrate innovative technological concepts that exemplify Tesla’s lifelong commitment to science, industry, and the environment. Each year, the Tesla Science Foundation bestows awards upon individuals for outstanding achievements in science, technology, and/or writing related to Tesla and his work.
Our mission is
Establishing and development of Nikola Tesla Clubs/Nikola Tesla Inventors Club in Serbia
After seven years of experimental work with Tacony Academy Charter School – American Paradigm Schools and Franklin Institute from Philadelphia on the project ‘Introducing Tesla to Schools in America’ under the guidance of Director of Tesla Science Foundation US, Ashley Redfearn, we are happy to have you for a partner in continuation of our project.
It is especially interesting, not only for America, but for the whole world, that the most important parts are going exactly to the country of Tesla’s people, but the programs we develop will be available to all schools in the whole world, for free.
Children in America, Serbia and other world countries will have a chance to communicate with their peers to exchange knowledge and creative ideas when socializing and playing. Coronavirus pandemic found us all unprepared and sent us all into a specific state. We don’t know how long it will last, but we know that this is one of the ways to help children not to feel closed up and without the possibility to develop their social life.
During the last seven years, we developed a good methodology of work and training for teachers and children. With the mutual exchange of experiences and knowledge, we are sure that teachers and club coordinators in Serbia will adjust to the established model of work in Nikola Tesla Clubs that we have been developing all this time. On the other hand, this is an opportunity for parents, especially if both of them are working, to let their children be educated by professionals who will in extracurricular activities work on developing new knowledge in children.
Teachers and coordinators of Nikola Tesla Clubs in America are, besides everything, top artists, but above all, professionals of all Science disciplines. They introduce students through art, in a subtle and creative way to new technology and knowledge which gives excellent results in children. Every day is filled with entertainment not only for students and teachers but for their parents too. Several times a year we organize exhibitions of works by members of Tesla Science Club members on the subject of Tesla and his work, from inventions to art/paintings, literary works, and drama, it is all open to the public.
We are especially happy with Director Sasa Jeftic’s enthusiasm and dedication, and other Teachers of Primary School Dragomir Markovich from Krushevac ( Serbia ), as well as our organization Tesla Science Foundation Serbia and its board of Directors, which has been participating in the establishment and development of Tesla Science Clubs for years.
